Norman Conqueror

Director and musical designer: Ingomar Vihmar Author: Allan Ayckbourn Artist: Liina Unt Lighting artist: Margus Vaigur Cast: Fatme Helge Leevald, Kleer Maibaum, Karin Tammaru, Jan Uuspöld, Priit Loog, Nils Mattias Steinberg It is a gloomy summer evening in an English country house. Annie, fed up with taking care of her bedridden mother and the fact that the simple-minded vet Tom who lives next door does not understand her attempts to approach, has decided to spend the weekend somewhere in a lonely hotel room. Not alone, as it soon turns out, but as a little adventure with his brother-in-law Norman. Her brother Greg and sister-in-law Sarah have agreed to come and look after their mother for now and everything seems to be going according to plan. However, Norman himself suddenly shows up, turning the well-hidden plans upside down and, to the dismay of the rest of the group, plans to take part in all the joint breakfasts, lunches and dinners that will take place this weekend. Norman is a character with terrible manners, unpredictable behavior, constantly spoiling the mood of others, and no one can escape his sharp tongue. It would be easy to hate him, but Norman has something that the other men in this group don't - an inexplicable, alluring effect on women that dulls the voice of reason and invites self-indulgent surrender. Things don't get any easier when Norman's wife Ruth arrives, who, despite her poor eyesight, seems to perfectly notice the mistakes of others and is perhaps even more skilled in the art of insulting than Norman himself... Premiere on October 20, 2022 in the Great Hall of Endla Theatre.
