In 1934, the population included 2,393 Swedes and 122 Estonians. Between 1943 and 1944, nearly all the Swedes fled to Sweden to escape the Soviet occupation. The Vormsi Farm Museum is a typical pre-World War II Vormsi Swedish farmstead.

This year, Ilon’s Wonderland celebrates its 20th anniversary. For all these years, the walls of Ilon’s Wonderland have been adorned with illustrations by the world-renowned artist Ilon Wikland. These works tell the stories of our childhood heroes, but they also reflect Ilon’s extraordinary life journey, which has unfolded both here at home and abroad.

The Museum is a gateway to the fascinating culture and history of Vormsi. Vormsi is an island where coastal Swedes lived for nearly 700 years. In 1934, the population included 2,393 Swedes and 122 Estonians. Between 1943 and 1944, nearly all the Swedes fled to Sweden to escape the Soviet occupation. The Vormsi Farm Museum is a typical pre-World War II Vormsi Swedish farmstead.

The train departs from in front of the railway station every hour on the hour between 12:00 and 17:00. The ride takes place with a minimum of 7 passengers. Your Peetrike ticket also includes admission to the museum.

The exhibition features finds from archaeological excavations conducted in Western Estonia by archaeologist Mati Mandel over the past half-century. More than 500 items are on display, ranging from pottery shards, pendants, and ornamental studs to brooches, breast chains, shield bosses, spearheads, swords, and their fragments. This magnificent archaeological exhibition is unique in Estonia.

The historic Haapsalu railway station houses exhibitions on the history of Estonian railways, as well as the history of telephones, radios, and televisions. Completed in 1907, the station building features a romantic wooden-lace style and a 216-meter-long covered platform. The museum's outdoor area displays historic locomotives and carriages.
